Our Mission & Goal
Our Mission: The Mission of Counting Strides Sisterhood Equine Center is to reach out and provide a safe and positive environment for women & children that are victims of abuse or are at risk of becoming victims of abuse. Services should be provided free of charge to qualifying clients regardless of their financial limitations. This environment should be conductive of personal independence and positive change for their future.
Our Goal: To break the cycle of abuse and empower women & girls in our area by providing equine & psychological services to women and girls that are: 1) At Risk of Developing Negative Relationships & Negative Behavioral Patterns - “At Risk” is defined by, but not limited to, Women & Girls from inner city neighborhoods; housing projects; impoverished rural communities; single-parent homes; foster homes; environments where positive role models do not exist 2) Victims of Domestic Violence 3) Victims of Sexual Crimes 4) Dealing with Divorce in the home 5) Currently Suffering from other Stressful or Emotional Life Challenges - “Stressful” or “Emotional Life Challenges” Include but are not limited to; Eating Disorders, Depression, Peer- Pressure, Poor Self-Image, etc |
